CLL Golf Outing Scores Again!

Cheltenham, PA (CLL) – Cheltenham Little League held its annual Ron
Camp Columbus Day golf outing for the fifth consecutive year at Ron
Jaworski’s Ramblewood Country Club in Mt. Laurel, NJ on Monday,
October 14th .

It was a sunny and blustery day, as winds were topping off at 35 miles per
hour, but that didn’t stop the 140 players from having a wonderful time, with
all proceeds benefiting the Challenger, Baseball and Softball programs of
CLL.

For the fourth consecutive year, Warminster Dental was the presenting
sponsor for the 29 th annual event, as they along with Leckman Law and
longtime Cheltenham Little League stalwart, Bruce Rangnow, opened up
their purse strings to help subsidize the event.

The generosity continued, as other sponsors, Hair by Erica Loney, D-Town
Dental, Russell Roofing, Premier Group Insurance and Stuckert Plumbing
all contributed mightily to our cause. There were additional sponsors who
helped out, such as Sprinkles Ice Cream Shoppe, John Degirolamo (State
Farm Insurance), Luigi’s Pizzarama II and Philadelphia Protestant Home.
The list goes on and on, but for now…Thank You from the bottom of our
hearts.

All three nines at Ramblewood CC were utilized and the conditions of the
golf course couldn’t have been better. In fact, the putting surfaces were so
smooth, that the winning score was 16-under-par, a new golf outing record.
For the first time in event history, we had a foursome repeat as champions,
as the group of Daryll Beltz, Barry Delp, Frank Gifford and Denny Parastino
won for the second time, equaling their feat from 2019. They edged out the
foursome of Tim Burns, Shawn Fenerty, Kevin Graham and Matt Lawler by
one shot.
Finishing three shots back in third were two groups. The foursome of
Rodger Gotlieb, Mike Kern, Lawrence Sokol and Phil Sokol were tied with
Timmy Durney, Scott Lynch, Al Sergio and Jay Leadbeater.

Our skill prizes were also very close, as Carl Wunderler, Kevin Graham and
Christian Capista walked away with Closest to the Pin honors. The
Straightest Drivers were captured by Michael Cornelison, Jerry DeRosa
and Rich O’Donnell. Each player received a plaque donated by Spikes
Trophies.

“Thank you for another successful outing,” mentioned Federal Reserve
Bank employee, John Heary. “The FED guys had a great time and look
forward to participating once again in 2025.”

As has been the case for many, many years, JC Campoli once again took
group photos and shots around the course. “Your outing is one of the
highlights of our season,” said John Campoli. It’s always well run and it’s
nice to see everyone at this event.”

You may or may not know, but none of this can be done without our
wonderful volunteers, anchored by Gail Chase. Helping Gail this year, were
Kelly Durand, Mike Sullivan, Greg Strup, Erin and Jerry Czech, Sam and
Jacob Chase, as well as Janet and Lawrence Sokol. In addition, my
longtime friend and co-worker Jeff Reitzes continues to amaze me with his
program design for the past 11 years!

“Thanks again for the opportunity to play in this outing,” said Jim Gillis, who
was playing in this event for the third time. “The event is so well run and
enjoyable. My friends and I have had a blast these last three years and
we’ll be back again next year!”

A huge gratitude goes to our golf committee, made up of tournament
namesake Ron Camp, Tim Hassall, Gail Chase, Bruce Rangnow and yours
truly, Phil Sokol.

Thank you to the Cheltenham Community and please continue to support
CLL!
